Volunteering with ssf

There are three volunteering opportunities with ssf:

Volunteers who help in the workshops

  • The workshop volunteers help the Project Co-ordinator and Project Workers present the children’s workshops.

The recruitment schedule is as follows:

  • Application.
  • Contact those named for references.
  • Informal interview.
  • Enhanced Disclosure Check.
  • Training (approximately 24 hours but some can be home based).
  • Assist at the children’s workshops once training is complete and the Disclosure Result has been received.

The workshop ‘season’ is mainly from November to June so it is ideal, but not exclusively so, for training to take place during the Autumn.

Volunteers tell us that they feel it is a worthwhile and very rewarding volunteering opportunity. We have lots of fun in the children’s workshops, which may be hard to believe given the serious nature of the subjects we cover.

Directors

At present we have six Directors on the Board all of whom are from Inverness or adjacent areas. We would like to have representation from other parts of Highland. Please make contact with the Project Co-ordinator who will put you in touch with one of the current Directors if you would like to explore this possibility.

Fundraising

Perhaps this is your forte. If so please contact the Project Co-ordinator who will put you in touch with one of the Directors.
